Chapter 16

"戦艦リヴァイアサン爆沈。アルケイディア帝国軍第8艦隊、全滅"

ヤクトにおける凶報が帝国政府に衝撃を与えた頃、私は病を理由にビュエルバを去った。イヴァリース各地の反アルケイディア勢力を結集し、解放軍を組織するためである。

この時期、ラブナスタに戻れたアーシェ殿下が生存を公表することなく、『暁の断片』とともに

身に隠されたのは辛いであった。仮にアーシェ殿下が民衆の前に姿を現せば、かつて殿下の自害を報じた私の誤りが明白となり、解放軍の結成にも支障をきたしたであろう。

そのような状態でダルマスカ王国の復活を宣言しても帝国にとって一撃のもとに粉砕されたはずである。

第8艦隊を失ったとはいえ、アルケイディア帝国は依然として強大な軍事大国でありつづけていた。

When word of this bad news from the Jagd came and shocked the Imperial government, I left Bhujerba with the pretext of being ill. The anti-Archadian forces throughout Ivalice coalesced in order to become a liberation army.

It was a shame that during that time Her Highness Ashe, who had returned to Rabanastre, had to keep her existence and that of the Dawn Fragment hidden from the public. For the sake of argument, if Ashe revealed herself to her subjects, my mistake of saying that she had committed suicide would become apparent, and the formation of the Liberation Army would be impeded.

And so in this state, though we had proclaimed that the Kingdom of Dalmasca was being reborn, to the Empire it could be blown away with one fell stroke. The 8th Squadron had been destroyed, but the Archadian Empire still continued to be a powerful military force to be reckoned with.
